The Sunshine State Welcomes MedMen

Here’s some exciting news for the Sunshine State: MedMen is coming in strong across the state of Florida. With eight cannabis retail locations open now in Jacksonville Beach, Key West, Orlando, Pensacola, Sarasota, St. Petersburg, Tallahassee, and West Palm Beach and five more locations to come, the expansion will bring a whole new world of cannabis options for Florida marijuana medical card holders.

While the stores will all feature MedMen’s signature, sleek architectural design and innovative tech integrated into the retail experience, the aesthetic of each one will have a special touch, paying homage to the area in which it is located.

How to Get a Medical Marijuana Card in Florida

Florida residents will only be able to shop at a MedMen cannabis retailer with a registered medical marijuana license. If you’re looking to get your card, you can start the process now. First, you’ll need to find a qualified medical marijuana doctor, who will consult on whether your medical condition will qualify for medicinal cannabis treatment. You must have been seeing your doctor for at least three months in order to qualify for a marijuana medical card. Qualifying conditions in Florida can include epilepsy, ALS, cancer, Crohn’s disease, HIV/AIDS, glaucoma, chronic muscle spasms, Parkinson’s disease, PTSD, and multiple sclerosis.

If your doctor decides you’re a good fit for medicinal cannabis, they will enter your name, email, and information in the Florida Marijuana Use Registry. You will then be given a patient ID number and can move forward with your application. You can then apply for your card online, or mail your application to the Office of Medical Marijuana Use. The registration fee for a medical marijuana card is currently $75. After submitting, the normal processing time is five business days from receipt of application and payment processing.
